Today I want to chat about Kombucha. That is obviously completely unrelated to those Banana Oatmeal Cookies, however I know you won't mind.

Let me start by stating that my husband drinks apple cider vinegar mixed with water daily to reduce inflammation or something like this.

He claims it is magical. I claim it is nasty.

While I know this will seem spectacular (because it is), I actually dry heave in the sight and smell of the early ritual on a daily basis. He loves that around me personally.

Based upon this reaction, an individual would feel I would stay far away from Kombucha, right? I mean, after all, it certainly comes with a vinegary tang.

But for some reason, I continue trying it. I Would like to like it SO DANG BAD.

I am literally a marketer's fantasy because every single time I see somebody I know enjoying a sip, or realising their favourite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I am all,"Maybe you will taste decent!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the term appreciating cause I believe it is difficult to think this stuff is truly enjoyable in almost any sense of the word.

Along with spoiler alert. None of them taste good. None.

I'm basically convinced that anybody who drinks this fermented tea stuff has zero taste buds, or seriously funky ones.

They have the perfect amount of banana flavor and a lovely chewy feel because of its oats. The chocolate chips are simply an extra bonus.

I enjoy these biscuits a little on the undercooked side, therefore I bake them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you prefer them to be cooked through, I'd shoot for 10-11 minutes.

1/2 cup unsalted butterat room temperature

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and blend in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add the mashed bananas and vanilla.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Gently add the bread mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just blended.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and then stir to recombine.

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips and mix until incorporated.

Use a moderate cookie scoop (approximately 1.5 tbsp ) to scoop the dough on prepared cookie sheets leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then lightly press the shirts of each cookie with the base of a drinking glass. Considering these cookies do not spread considerably, this can help give them a traditional cookie form.
